Who Was Pastor Thomas Tamakloe?

portraitThomas S. Tamakloe was born on December 24, 1957 in Accra, Ghana to Godwin S. S. Tamakloe, an ex- Headmaster and Gladys Tamakloe, an Educationist, both of blessed memory.
“Tee Tommy” as he was affectionately called attended Tamale Secondary School and St Paul’s Secondary School where he achieved his GCE O & A Levels, respectively.
Tom left for the US in 1980 where he graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Tom held various executive positions in the pharmaceutical industry, mainly Purdue, Becton Dickinson and Cegedim Dendrite for over 30 years.
Tom loved music, especially gospel, jazz and reggae. He was a keen drummer at school and sometimes played for the church choir.  He loved playing football and soccer. Of all the things that he loved doing, Tom’s love of God and preaching the gospel brought him the most joy and fulfillment.  In 2015, Tom was appointed as an Assistant Pastor at The Word Enlightenment House of Jesus Christ Ministries in New York by Pastor Dr. George Baah.
Tom was married to Jasmine Tamakloe (nee Koranteng) on June 5, 1988, and they were married for 29 great years. He is survived by three loving children, Ian and his wife Gabriela, Jonathan and Camille, four devoted sibling, Godwin, Cecilia, Pearl and Wisdom, his mother – in-law Yvonne-Marie Koranteng, nieces Sandra, Jasmine, Sefa and Anita and nephews Gameli, Nutefe, Dennis, Nathan, Brian and Tyler. In-Laws Judith, John Opoku, Robert and Fiona Koranteng.
Tom was diagnosed with stage IV prostate cancer on July 19, 2016. After a 16 month battle with the disease, Tom sadly succumbed to its advancement.
Tom was a God fearing man and did all he could in his lifetime to convert nonbelievers to Christ.
A gentleman in every sense of the word, dedicated to God, his children, family and friends.
Tee Tommy, fare thee well until we meet again.
